چکیده

Conventional trisectored cellular systems have not taken full advantages of antenna directivities to enhance frequency reuse efficiency. A novel Channel Alternation and Rotation (CAR) scheme is proposed to coordinate channel assignments with antenna directivities. CAR employs a multi-interval cellreuse layout. Each cell type is allocated extra channel set(s) to provide network designers the flexibility to assign channels avoiding nearest front lobe interference to enhance the carrier to interference ratio (C/I). CAR allows deployment of smaller and non-integer reuse factors based on C/I requirements, thus increasing channel capacity. Since current base station equipment is utilized, no additional costs are introduced.

Channel Alternation and Rotation in Narrow Beam Trisector Cellular Systems

Two 60 Narrow-Beam Trisector Cell (NBTC) frequency reuse plans, 1x(3+1) and 2x(3+1), that employ Channel Alternation and Rotation (CAR) scheme are presented. In CAR, each cell type is allocated one extra channel set that allows network designer to rotate and alternate channels according to nearest front lobe interference avoidant strategy to enhance co-channel interference ratio (C/I) and allow...

Channel alternation and rotation for tri-sectored directional antenna cellular systems

Due to discrete reuse cluster sizes, disjoined and uniformed channel assignment, conventional tri-sectored cellular systems have not taken full advantage of antenna directivities. In this paper, we present a novel Channel Alternation and Rotation (CAR) scheme to coordinate channel assignment with antenna directivities. In CAR, cell layout is based on two-tier cell-reuse structure and each cell ...

A Recursive Approximation Approach of non-iid Lognormal Random Variables Summation in Cellular Systems

Co-channel interference is a major factor in limiting the capacity and link quality in cellular communications. As the co-channel interference is modeled by lognormal distribution, sum of the co-channel interferences of neighboring cells is represented by the sum of lognormal Random Variables (RVs) which has no closed-form expression. Assuming independent, identically distributed (iid) RVs, the...

Secure Communication in Shotgun Cellular Systems

In this paper, we analyze the secure connectivity in Shotgun cellular systems (SCS: Wireless communication systems with randomly placed base stations) by Poisson intrinsically secure communication graph (IS-graph), i.e., a random graph which describes the connections that are secure over a network. For a base-station in SCS, a degree of secure connections is determined over two channel models: ...
